About Kate's Tutor Room
Kate's Tutor Room is based in the Netherlands, but the idea was born during my time as a multi-subject private tutor in Switzerland. My role involved frequent travel with a homeschooling family, and I realised that I wanted to create a company providing accessible, high-quality education services to students and their parents regardless of location. With just a computer or tablet and internet connection, my clients are transported to my Tutor Room, a place where they can receive lessons or consultation tailored to their wishes.
Client-centred approach: My clients' wishes are the driving force behind all that I do, and you are guaranteed an unrivalled level of customer service and satisfaction.
Friendliness and fun: I love learning and believe that my students should too.
Efficiency: I like to get things done, and take great pride in my high productivity rate. I also type at lightning speed!
Personal touch: As a one-woman company, everything goes through me. You can feel personally cared for, and know that nothing will leave my desk unless I am completely happy with it.
The Tutor Room
My Tutor Room is my small home office, located in a quiet and rural area of the Netherlands, close to the German border. Lovingly designed and created with an ambience of calm productivity in mind, clients receive a warm welcome as they enter the Tutor Room via their screen. Surrounded by my books, along with a collection of houseplants, photographs and travel souvenirs, I have created my perfect environment for delivering engaging lessons and consultations, accessible from anywhere in the world.
Born in Nottingham in 1991, I attended a private school from the age of four to eighteen. I loved school and had a very positive educational experience, which forms the basis of my pedagogical ideals. After gaining my Classics degree at the University of Cambridge, I moved straight into teaching at a top private school in Glasgow. Three years later, armed with classroom experience but filled with a desire to travel more, I took up a role as a private homeschooling tutor, based in Switzerland. During my three fulfilling and hugely successful years in this role, I met and fell in love with a Dutchman. In July 2018, I became a resident of the Netherlands (Holland), and began nurturing the idea of Kate's Tutor Room to realisation. When I am not in my Tutor Room, I enjoy exploring the countryside close to my house, horse-riding, baking and learning Dutch.
